The 10,000 hour rule applies.
Growing up in a home with a mother who was a painter and ceramicist no doubt gave Jonathan an early advantage but sketching skills are honed and nurtured in daily rigour through practice. Drawing and sketching became a daily routine from the age of 3 into his college years where he would spend 4-6 hours a day honing his sketch style.
After university studies, Jonathan continued to develop his interest in art and design over a span of 25+ years at small boutique innovation agencies, global strategic design firms to Fortune 500 companies and has been working with global brands to shape their narratives through design, design thinking and strategy.
He obtained a BFA in Industrial Design from College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan USA and attended graduate studies in Advanced Transportation Design at Umeå Universitet in Umeå, Sweden. Prior to this, he had also studied Interior Architecture at Pratt Institute and Graphic Design at School of Visual Arts in NYC, NY USA.
He has taught sketch technique at Konstfack in Stockholm, Sweden and continues to do so at IKDC at Lund University in Lund, Sweden since 2013.
Jonathan is presently @ IKEA in Älmhult, Sweden serving as Range Identity Leader.
